Tropical Storm Elsa hit Gainesville on July 7, 2021
Larry and Pam's Home and Cars are a total loss!
Larry and Pam Croy
Larry Croy is a Past District Deputy(PDD) from Gainesville Elks Lodge 990.
Larry and Pam Croy's home at 13637 NW 39th Ave was destroyed by the storm!
The attached images show the result of tropical storm Elsa that hit Gainesville on July 7th of this year.
These images were taken two days after the storm. You can see the high water marks showing how high the water was inside their home. The home inside had four feet of water, while their garage and Larry’s office had over five feet. One image is of the roof of their carport where Larry parks his car. YES, his car was still parked there!
Needless to say, everything in their home was a loss except Pam, Larry, and their two Great Pyrenees dogs.
911 was called to assist with their evacuation. The dogs were swum out on leashes while Larry and Pam were escorted by officers so they didn't fall in the deep water. The dogs are now at Pet Paradise while Pam and Larry were at the hotel for the first couple of nights, now they are staying at Pam's sister's house in Anthony (halfway between Ocala and Gainesville).
Pet Paradise's boarding fees are approximately $100/night.
Larry and Pam continue to have living and pet expenses in addition to having their home, their vehicles, and their belongings destroyed.
